That is unacceptable. But I'll also say that the problems experienced by people in NYC and SF have created a negative perception of AT&T that isn't accurate for most of the country. I've taken my iphone to a lot of places (to name a few: Orlando, DC, Indianapolis, New Hampshire, Maine, Houston) and had very good service (by which I mean as good as what my gf has had on her verizon phone) everywhere. I live in Boston, and the 3G speeds could be faster, but I do always have 3G and have very few dropped calls.
None of this is to suggest 30% dropped calls in a major city is Ok - it's clearly not, and if I lived in NYC or SF, I probably wouldn't have an iphone. But I wouldn't hesitate to recommend AT&T to people who lived in most other places.

I noticed it right away mate, and I thought I was being a little pernickety until I noticed more people cropping up in threads here and especially on the Apple discussion forums.
If Apple had added features to iOS 4 over the 4.1-4.3 updates which would explain degraded performance, then fair enough, but Home Sharing and Personal Hotspot are the biggest new feature in the iOS 4 updates, and I don't honestly don't think for one second anyone is stupid enough to believe either impact the way the iPhone UI animates.
Anyway, I've restored to 4.3.2 via iTunes and while the stock apps run perfectly, the real test is when the device has a load on it, so I'm going to install some third party apps and see how things go.
Here's an advance hint ... it'll be the exact same as 4.3.2.

I have no doubt Apple will have a similar "free" baseline that might wet your palette. Actually that would mean competition/capitalism was involved, which also means you're still not going to be happy.

Spring-loaded folders in the dock. So you can drag a file onto a folder in the dock and have it spring open - like in the Finder.
Actually you can already do this - I have my documents, applications and photos folders on the dock and they spring open etc...Excellent feature by the way. I think all they are really doing is giving you the ability to control how long you have to wait before they spring.....

If Microsoft is indeed developing such a device, Apple surely knows about it and will have a product to counter it.
Apple is using the current "video capable" iPods as a test bed for the true Video iPod. I'll place my bet that Apple has some cool innovative products up its sleeve that we can't even imagine.

Mr Blah, your name seems to be appropriate. No one looks at a tower and says, "Hey, that looks like a really innovative computer." However, how many people think that (maybe not in those exact words, but the idea) about the iMac? I'd venture to guess a lot more than ever thought that about a Dell. That's why Apple's viewed as the leader in the computer industry even by a lot of people who don't have or even want Macs. If Apple sacrificed that for the sake of perceived benefit on the part of the same people that go for Dells because they're "tools", they're not going to gain anything. Apple survives and flourishes by being the technology leaders, not by copying overused designs like towers.
Well go and tell that to Dell and their massive market share and we'll see if they take you seriously and change their marketing strategy. Theres ideology and then theres reality, I suggest you take a trip into reality. People may think Apple is innovative but so what? Most people buy whats cheap, not whats innovative, and since Dell isnt innovative in anything they do they can afford to be cheap. I think Apple is perfectly fine with having such a tiny market share especially since iPod is keeping them afloat (how many billions does Jobs need? It came out yesterday. Not a couple of hours ago. I stream Sirius radio on the weekdays at work and I notice a difference in the battery usage.

Finally, this is what I have been waiting for.
Not listed on UK store yet, but $69 on US store. Going by that, (being same price as shuffle), UK should be �49. Heck, that's a lot for a mouse, but only �10 more than regular BT mouse and �15 than wired MM, for that you get laser too.
Not sure how often I would use it, too comfortable with trackpad and hot corners, but I will get one anyway. Be handy for later with iMac.
